Bruce Rosen

In 32 years of practicing law, Bruce Rosen has defended a diverse range of clients. For each of them, he has never been satisfied until he convinces a prosecutor to decline prosecution, or until he hears the words “not guilty” from a jury.

That doggedness has consistently earned Mr. Rosen the distinction of being voted one of the Best Criminal Defense Lawyers in America and Best Criminal Defense Lawyers in Madison.

After receiving his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Rosen was a Staff Attorney for the Legal Services Center of Dane County. In 1977, he joined Charles Pellino and quickly became one of the nation’s most respected defense attorneys.

During his tenure at Pellino, Rosen, Mowris & Kirkhuff, Mr. Rosen played an integral role in several high-profile cases, including The United States v. Mechanic in 1986 http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=us&vol=475&invol=66, State of Wisconsin v. Hajicek in 2001 http://wisbar.org/res/sup/2001/98-3485.htm and State of Wisconsin v. Thiel.

Mr. Rosen is also active in the legal community as a lecturer for the State Bar of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin Law School and Wisconsin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He was an investigator for nine years for the Board of Professional Responsibility until being appointed by Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court to the Special Investigative Panel of the Office of Lawyer Regulation in 2001.

Mr. Rosen spends his spare time with his family and his community as a member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Foundation, as a chairperson of the Goodman Campus and as a coach for the Middleton High School Mock Trial Team.
